A look at a miniature illustrated book that I created in collaboration with Christina Lafontaine. Some scenes from the IPRC, a community art space that I spent a lot of time at in Portland Oregon. Someone on Etsy sent me a screen capture of one of my mini books that landed on the front page of etsy a few days ago! hooray! Where I order supplies online and locally. One of my Etsy customers works at the Gorilla Foundation as a food preparer for Koko the gorilla. If you don’t know, Koko knows sign language and she was the topic of a Reading Rainbow book, Koko’s Kitten, one of my favorite when I was a kid. My customer, Kim, gave Koko a very nice [...] Heart Handmade, a great blog that follows the current D.I.Y. crafting movement featured me in a step by stepĀ “how they made it” lab section where I discuss how I make my miniature books – check it out! Photos of a small traditionally bound Japanese notebook. I learned this type of binding, called the Longstitch from Keith Smith’s book Volume 1: Non Adhesive Binding: Books Without Paste or Glue.
